Katrina Halili

This was taken during her autograph signing event. I covered the event for summit media and this was one of her strongest portrait that i've shot through.

Comments and Critiques are welcomed.

Re: Katrina Halili

@ Mario ... I'm no expert but I find the image too soft for my taste & little overexpose skin tone. Or maybe its my monitor display.

Re: Katrina Halili

I agree... It is a bit too soft. It's pretty obvious around the nose area.

Re: Katrina Halili

i think there's too much PP to smoothen her face which is evident in the baby hair in her forehead, which makes me think, isnt her skin smooth? good cropping though...tightly cropped.

tfs.

Re: Katrina Halili

It's way too post processed for my tastes. Otherwise, it's still a fantastic close up.

Re: Katrina Halili

I guess you used gaussian blur on this one. Just try to use history brush on the eyes, hair, eyebrows, lips, and earrings after applying gaussian blur. Softness will be more natural while retaining sharpness of all eye-catching features of her face.

Re: Katrina Halili

I'm not a fan of overprocessed photos.

Going beyond that though, when taking photos of people from this angle, the symmetry is quite important. Look at how the eyes work with each other, the slight curve on the lips (medyo mukhang ngiwi). In fairness, I guess this was more of a snap shot versus a shoot.

This is why beauty photography is quite difficult. A lot of factors need to come into play to make a true beauty portrait.
