what exactly did you do? you might want to bring it to pentax's distributor to have it fixed.

Re: How to remove FOCUSING SCREEN of k10d

Removing the K10D focusing screen is trivial, because the K10D is designed to have replaceable focusing screens.

Remove the lens. Looking at the camera right-side up, you will see at the top of the body cavity, above the mirror, there is a small tab-like piece of metal.

Push this tab-like piece of metal upward (toward the prism) with a small object like a toothpick. The focusing screen carrier will then pop downward of its own accord.

You can then lift out the screen with some tweezers or something.

I think Sanly's has replacement focusing screens in stock. If you're going to buy from them, might as well let them replace it for you.

mga master thank you for the info on changing the focusing screen. i was able to remove the screen by the way, yeah its easy but you really have to be carefull as the mirror and the pentaprism are on both sides when doin the surgery. grrr learned my lesson in a very hard way

sir actually i havent bought one yet, all i did is remove the focusing screen from the body. Tried calling sanly cubao but they dont have stock pero umorder na din ako, one more thing, weird ang price, they are selling it for P770 lang, and according to the lady it is original pentax.

called camerehouse wala din, but according to those people, it cost 4k!!!

do you know anyone who sells pentax accessories? especially focusing screen?

Re: How to remove FOCUSING SCREEN of k10d

John,

that is strange. Kasi the LL-80 goes for $45 at Adorama. That's about 2000 pesos.

baka yung 700 is a third-party screen? with split-image? that would be great... kasi I bought a Virtual Village screen for the K10D (i already have one for the Canon 350D) which cost $30. plus shipping pa...
