Tentatively named as Nikon D500, this is a 1.5x crop factor, pro/enthusiast spec camera with weather-sealing, liveview, built-in flash and video mode. With more speculations, the Nikon D500 seems to land at 15.5 megapixels. The video capabilities are still 24 fps but with the added benefit of full manual control over exposure.
With video feature that is on par with Canonīs 5D MKII, the Nikon D500 has the potential to see a much larger following since both pricepoint, cropfactor and Nikonīs flash handling tip the scales in Nikonīs favor. As they say, expect the Nikon D500 to hit the stores late Q1 2009. Your guess is as good as ours.

Let those two giant fight. They even have their own corporate spy intelligence & corporate rumors. With the fast life cycle of each model, the fight is getting boring. Let's shoot ! ha ha ha

David, Yeah I guess it won't be fun if these two companies stop introducing new cameras. On a more practical aspect, invest in lens as they last longer..
MY take on this is set your mind on something you really want and that you'll be happy for a long time. Then you will truly stop then drooling for these new cameras hehehe |
