Dinaya sa Dinagyang
Yet another case of copyright infringement - this time by a local newspaper.

When you go to these festivals, it pays to scan the local newspapers. You just might find one --- or one dozen --- of your photos published without your permission.

a couple of guys i know from iloilo tried contacting the newspaper but no one would pick up.

Anton mentioned in another forum that aside from the newspaper mentioned in the link, another newspaper and a government website were found to have been using his Dinagyang photos.

Another government entity using stolen photos???!!! Do we not have the Intellectual Property Office???

We do, actually. And here are items 4 and 5 of the IPO's mission statement:

4. Steering effectively government agencies, academe, the private sector and civil society in raising awareness of the value of intellectual property and pursuing a unified national IP strategy.

5. Vigorously coordinating and aligning the efforts of government agencies and the private sector in promoting respect and strengthening enforcement of IPR.
