Purple fringing present at the end of the zoom range esp with wider apertures. Noticeable @ 100%, but nothing that lightroom or photoshop can't fix.

which do you think is more useful, tamron's sharper optics or sigma's HSM?
im still undecided on which 70-200 will i get.. hehe!

another question, anyone here experienced peeling/chipping of paint on their sigma 70-200?
Hi Jadran,

imho, better finish on the mark2 rather than the mark 1 version in terms of the paint finish

for those who had their lens recalibrated by JT, was it still soft wide open?

My macro 1 version doesn't have peeling yet and I clarified w/ Joy (JT) that if ever it happens my warranty will cover it but I think my warranty has lapsed already hehehe.

Re: Sigma 70-200 F2.8 EX DG Macro HSM

finally got one! i tried three units. the first one focuses slow (slower than my tamron 17-50), then i tried another unit which i think is a defective one i can feel the motor move but it felt stucked and doesnt focus. the third one presented no problems OTB, sharp and fast focusing. now i'm in need of Alaxan.. my shoulder felt like "tali na nagkapili-pilipit!". it was fun to shoot with though.. hehe!
